Join us at the United Church of Johnson on Tuesday, October 21 from 2:30–4:30 for an exciting after-school challenge! Design, build, test, and improve your own creation to harness the power of the wind. How far can your idea go?

About the event
In this engaging after-school program, students dive into the world of engineering by designing and building their own wind-powered cars. Using simple materials like lightweight wheels, straws, and paper sails, kids explore the principles of motion, force, and aerodynamics. After constructing their initial designs, they test their cars by racing them with the wind and observe how far and fast they travel. Through guided reflection and peer collaboration, students identify what works and what doesn't, then modify their cars to improve speed, stability, or distance. The hands-on process encourages creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving, all while making science and engineering fun and accessible.
